About Service Learning Academy

Welcome to Redford Service Learning Academy (DSLA). Our journey began in Fall 1999 as “YMCA Service Learning Academy.” Over the years, we’ve evolved, and in 2007, we proudly embraced our current name, Detroit Service Learning Academy. Chartered by the esteemed Lake Superior State University, our commitment to excellence was recognized in 2011 when we were honored with the status of a “school of excellence.” This isn’t just a title; it’s a testament to our unwavering dedication to our students.
